WARNING: From 5:17 onwards, this video is VERY LOUD. I think it was recorded that way, so you may want to turn your volume down. BETTER VERSION than my previous one – longer, louder audio. A song performed by Tim Minchin as an after dinner speaker for an English corporation called JLA. Thanks to Linzi, Kirsty and Tom for the video. Regarding Tim stopping in the middle, I asked him why, and he replied, “i’m pretty sure i stopped because (although you can’t really hear it on that recording), they were laughing too much. i quite often pause to wait for laughs if i need to.” If you disagree with this, good for you. It’s not really worth arguing over, so please just enjoy the song.
Update: Comments now require approval, because people cannot get over it. Disappointing. Sorry guys. www.angry-feet.com The official Tim Minchin Fansite

Ahkay, i thought the AA thing was in reference to the water ratings here in Australia, a tap with a AA rating is better at saving water than a A one ect.

n5057094 said “JLA are an english company that manage motivational speakers and other entertainers. JLA rate the price categories of each performer on a system where AA is $50,000+?, A is less, B is less, C is less again etc. Thats what Tim means when he says “I haven’t reached a AA rating yet… You should hire me while I’m still a C” Its an audition about why to hire him instead of the other motivational speakers JLA have to offer”

@trianglegirl42 The song talks about her buying a stairway to heaven, and can seek advice from Ernst and Young, which I suppose could be argued is legal..ish…clutching at straws

Far be it from me to correct Tim, but Ernst and Young can only offer you financial (not legal) advice… Fantastic song though! I wish I could play piano without looking

@n5057094 Ah, that’s what it is. I had this vague idea it was something to do with the Justice League of America, but knew that couldn’t possibly be right.

Sometimes he comes out after shows to sign things, though not recently. But once he’s back in the UK, you might be able to meet him after a show.

I met him quite a few times during the melbourne international comedy festival last year, after shows. Used to talk to him via myspace though, before he got all famous and his “people” started doing that for him.
